Version 2.6Mis à jour 20 octobre 2026NomadMapper AS

Ce document n'existe pour l'instant qu'en norvégien et en anglais, le texte ci-dessous est donc en anglais.

These terms are the agreement between you and NomadMapper AS about using NomadMapper. By creating an account you accept them. If you disagree with anything here, you should not use the service.

01Who you are contracting with

The service is provided by NomadMapper AS, registered in the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises. These terms cover the app at app.nomadmapper.com, the website nomadmapper.com and all related features.

02The service is in beta

NomadMapper is in closed beta. Features may change, be added or be removed along the way, bugs and downtime can occur, and we ship changes regularly without advance notice.

Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. You can download all your content at any time under Settings. We recommend you do not use NomadMapper as the only place you store important travel documents.

03Account and registration

You must be at least 16 to create an account. During the beta, registration requires an invitation or a trip invitation from an existing user.

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate information when registering,
  • keeping your password secret and not sharing your account,
  • everything that happens on your account, and
  • telling us immediately if you suspect someone else has gained access.

04Acceptable use

You may use NomadMapper to plan trips, share content with your travel companions, take part in the community and use the booking and map features.

You may not:

  • upload content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing or offensive,
  • infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights,
  • post other people's photos or personal data without their consent,
  • distribute malware, spam or unsolicited advertising,
  • impersonate another person or organisation,
  • scrape data, circumvent technical limits or place undue load on the service.

If you break these rules we may remove content and limit or close your account. For serious or repeated breaches we may close it immediately. Otherwise we will notify you first and give you a chance to put it right.

05Your content

5.1 You own what you create

Photos, text and anything else you upload remain yours. So we can run the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, convert and distribute your content – but only to the extent needed to deliver the service to you and the people you share with. The licence ends when you delete the content.

5.2 Marketing requires separate consent

We never use your photos in marketing unless you have ticked the box on that specific photo. Consent is off by default.

You can withdraw marketing consent for a photo at any time in settings. Withdrawal stops all further use, but we cannot recall material that has already been published.

5.3 Moderation

Photos shared publicly in the community go through automated moderation. Where the assessment is uncertain, a human reviews the content before it is approved or rejected. If you disagree with a decision, you can request a review at support@nomadmapper.com.

06Noma and the use of AI

Noma is the AI assistant in NomadMapper. Noma suggests destinations and day plans, drafts your travel journal and answers questions. Everything Noma produces is labelled “Made by Noma”.

AI-generated content can be wrong or out of date. You must check critical information yourself – opening hours, prices, addresses, entry requirements and health requirements – against the original source. We are not liable for losses caused by acting on an AI suggestion without verifying it.

Read more about how we use AI (EU AI Act).

07Booking with travel partners

NomadMapper is a planning service, not a travel agency. We do not sell flights, accommodation, car rental or experiences in our own name. Experiences with local guides are covered in section 10.

When you book a travel service through the app, your contract is with the supplier – not with NomadMapper AS. The supplier’s own terms govern price, changes, cancellation, refunds and delivery of the trip.

Claims about delays, cancellations, refunds or defects in the trip therefore go to the supplier you booked with. We are happy to help you find the right contact point, but we cannot handle the claim on their behalf.

Prices and availability come from the partners and can change until the booking is confirmed. We accept no liability for errors in data we receive from third parties.

08Commission and affiliate links

Some links in NomadMapper are affiliate links. If you book or buy through them, we may receive commission from the partner. You do not pay more because of it.

Commission does not affect which results you see or how they are ranked, and it does not affect what Noma recommends.

09Subscription, payment and right of withdrawal

NomadMapper has a free tier. Paid subscriptions unlock more storage, more AI features and extras such as bank connection for the travel budget. Current prices and what is included are on the subscription page.

  • The subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the next renewal, and you keep access for the period you have paid for.
  • Price changes are announced well before they take effect, and you can cancel before they apply.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

9.1 Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act. The period runs from the day you bought the subscription.

  • When you order, you ask for the subscription to start right away. You do this by ticking the box before you pay, and you get access immediately.
  • If you asked for it to start and withdraw within the period, you only pay for the days you have had access. We refund the rest, and the subscription ends.
  • If a purchase was made without you asking for it to start right away, you get the full amount back.
  • We refund you no later than 14 days after we are told that you are withdrawing, using the same payment method you used.

How to withdraw: Email support@nomadmapper.com within the deadline and say that you want to cancel the agreement. You can use the withdrawal form below, but you don't have to.

Withdrawal form. To NomadMapper AS, support@nomadmapper.com: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: [subscription, e.g. Noma+]. Contract entered into on: [date]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Email address on the account: [email]. Date: [date].

9.2 Printed products

Photo books, calendars, posters and canvas prints are made to your choices with your own photos, and printed by our partner Gelato. They therefore have no right of withdrawal (Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act § 22 (c)). This is also shown in the order before you pay.

  • The price you see before you pay includes shipping and any VAT.
  • You can complain about faults and defects under the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act, for example printing errors or damage in transit. Email support@nomadmapper.com.
  • If we refund an order before it is printed, we stop it at the printer.

9.3 Noma Credits

Noma Credits are digital content that is added to your account as soon as you have paid. When you buy, you ask for this by ticking the box in the order, and you confirm that you then lose the right of withdrawal (Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act § 22 (n)).

  • The price you see before you pay includes any VAT.
  • If we refund a purchase of credits, the refund only covers credits you have not used. We deduct credits from your balance in the same proportion as the amount we pay back.

10Experiences with local guides

Local guides can offer experiences in NomadMapper, and travellers can book and pay for them in the app. NomadMapper AS is the marketplace that handles the booking and the payment. We don’t run the experiences ourselves.

10.1 When you book an experience

You buy the experience from the guide, not from NomadMapper AS. The agreement about the experience is between you and the guide. The guide is responsible for the experience being as described.

  • Before you pay, you see who organises it and whether the guide is a business or a private individual. If you buy from a private individual, consumer protection law, including the right of withdrawal, does not apply to the guide.
  • The price you see before you pay is the total price. Payment goes through Stripe.
  • An experience on a set date has no right of withdrawal (Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act § 22 (m)). Instead, you can cancel under the guide’s cancellation policy.

10.2 Cancellations

The guide picks one of three cancellation policies for each experience, and the policy is shown when you book, in the payment and on the receipt. The policy that applied when you paid is the one that applies to the booking.

  • Flexible: full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start.
  • Moderate: full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before the start.
  • Strict: full refund if you cancel at least 7 days before the start.
  • If you cancel after the deadline, you get no refund.
  • You cancel under Orders in your profile. The refund goes back to the same card, usually within 5–10 business days.
  • If the guide cancels, you always get the full amount back.

If something is wrong with the experience, raise it with the guide first. If you can’t agree, write to support@nomadmapper.com and we’ll help you find a solution.

10.3 When you are a local guide

As a local guide, you are the seller of your experiences. You are not our employee, and you act on your own behalf, either as a business or as a private individual.

  • You must state the right country and whether you are a business or a private individual. Travellers can see which one you are. If it changes, you must update it.
  • You must describe the experience accurately, with price, duration, meeting point and what is included, and deliver what you promised.
  • You are responsible for safety during the experience, for insurance and for any licences and permits you need.
  • You are responsible for tax and VAT on what you sell.
  • Payments and payouts go through Stripe Connect. You must connect a Stripe account and accept Stripe’s terms, and Stripe verifies your identity. We can only accept guides in countries where Stripe can pay you out.
  • We may be required to report sales made through NomadMapper to tax authorities. If so, we will ask you for the information needed.

10.4 Platform fee and payouts

  • For each booking, we deduct a platform fee from the amount the customer pays. The fee is shown when you list the experience, and it includes any VAT.
  • The rest, your share, goes to your Stripe balance when the customer pays. We hold the payout until the experience has been delivered, and pay it to your bank account about 24 hours after the experience started. Until then, the money stays with Stripe, in your balance.
  • If the experience is far in the future, we pay out no later than 80 days after the customer paid.

10.5 Cancellations, refunds and losses

  • If the customer cancels within the deadline in your cancellation policy, the customer gets everything back. Your share is reversed, and we refund the platform fee.
  • If you cancel a paid booking yourself, the customer gets everything back. You still pay the platform fee for the booking, and it is deducted from your Stripe balance. It covers our costs for the payment. The app also tells you this before you cancel.
  • If the customer’s bank disputes the payment (a chargeback), or we have to refund because the experience wasn’t delivered as described, we may deduct the amount from your Stripe balance or from later payouts.

10.6 Content and suspension

We may hide or remove experiences that break these terms or the law, or that mislead travellers, and we may close guide accounts after repeated breaches or many cancellations. Experiences from guides without an active Stripe account are not shown to others.

11Liability

The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, and we are not responsible for content other users post.

We are not liable for indirect losses, consequential damages, lost profits or lost data arising from use of the service. For paid subscriptions our total liability is limited to what you have paid in the last twelve months, unless the loss is caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Norwegian law.

12Termination and deletion

You can delete your account at any time under Settings. Deletion permanently removes your profile, trips, photos, chat and documents, and cannot be undone. Content in shared trips may remain for the other participants.

We may terminate the agreement with reasonable notice, or close an account immediately for serious breaches. If we discontinue the service, we will give you notice in good time so you can download your content.

13Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the service or the rules change. The version and date are shown at the top. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, you have accepted the new terms. If you disagree, you can cancel and delete your account.

14Complaints, governing law and disputes

If you are unhappy, contact us first at support@nomadmapper.com or through the contact form. We resolve the vast majority of cases there.

If we cannot reach agreement, consumers may bring the matter to the Norwegian Consumer Council.

This agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are heard by the Norwegian courts, with Asker og Bærum District Court as the agreed venue unless mandatory rules provide otherwise.

15Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in the privacy notice, which forms part of this agreement. See also your rights under the GDPR.
